Game 25: Namarrakin And The Worm

Wherein our Intrepid Explorators leave the safety of their new Yasara friends and move to explore a section of collapsed tunnels. They find the burned-over Essari city of Namarrakin. The following things were discovered:

  • The citizens ran to the city's Aeohsa tree as the disaster unfolded. MaeNendrith stood and killed all they could.
  • The Essari government had sealed away the town's shrine to both MaeDinn(Maw) and Dhall'ys(Degmos), and destroyed their statues.
  • The city suffered a lava flow at some point, that burned nearly everything
  • The Deep Roads were truly impressive, and the Waystones were based on a simplified rendition of each town's distinctive Aeohsa tree
  • Some Essari Watcher constructs are still half-functional, and fully annoying
  • Namarrakin and Kallorhir were both under the control of the Archmagus Nizurra, delegated to various local magistrates.
  • The crew felt and heard tremors, and managed to jump into the Ordinatus Emergency Outpost in the nick of time as a Purple Worm of colossal size crashed through the ruined city, swallowing the outpost. Stone and Raine managed to get the beast to vomit up the outpost (and a good quarter of the city), but it took some time. No one knows how far they've travelled, nor in what direction. Truly, they are lost in Dead Essard.

    Game 24: The Expedition

Wherein our Intrepid Explorators head out on their own in Dead Essard.

They head north and climb a mountain, and meet a tribe of bat-men, the Yasara ('Clever Bat' in Old Essari). After a standoff they are welcomed and given food and a safe place to rest.

A small Yasara child warns them of the Andoth, whatever that is.

See, not all of Dead Essard is bad(!)
