Game 22: The Totally Peaceful Waters of Essard

 Our Intrepid Heroes board The Midnight Squall and begin the expedition. Met the ship's crew and a peculiar silver-masked fancy lad named Aloysius, attached to the Ordinatus contingent. Also, his enormous construct, Vremma.

After a solid week of travel over shifting waters, they get to the Bay of Sha'Ira - their entry point to the island of Annasielle, and Essard. 

Things that were witnessed:

  • A Ghost Swarm - lost souls from Essard, haunting the seas and attracted by living voices
  • Dead seabeasts, rotting and drifting by as they were devoured by other sealife.
  • Mutated cuttlefish, known locally as Shodan. Fiesty and in big swarms. Also: hungry.
  • An Essari Kraken, which tried to eat several of the ships. Did cause a significant loss to expedition supplies, but it could have been much worse. 
  • Upon sighting land, the airship Poppy and Artisan Aloysius/Vremma flew inland to scout. They located a ruined above-ground group of structures only a few miles inland, and plans were made to clear the site.
